I got 1 yesterday at Mad, it appears he was hot.(so was I)

To me a spotter is a person who notes down the registrations on the aircraft spotted in the airport. I think your picture shows a spotter. The guy on the picture from AirbusfanYYZ shows a photographer!

Not necessarily. Some spotters also take pictures and write registration numbers.

I agree with Lindy. I take photos, but I for sure consider myself a spotter...  Wow!
