In the large number of pictures that can be found on the website, there is a lot of good cockpit shots that got into the database.

Personnally, I more than often mess up the opportunites I have to get cockpit shots before/after one of my flights. With this thread, I'd like to get some tips from you guys who know how the get decent cockpit shots. What's more frustrating than getting the opportunity to enter the flightdeck and to mess up with the few pictures you took in there?

So here's a few exemples of cockpit shots I like quite a lot. I'd like to know, if possible, how they are generally taken (the approximate settings.., etc..)

In low light if you don't have the advantage of a tripod, bounce the flash off the ceiling above the camera so as not to get reflections off the LCD screens.

Otherwise bring a tripod.

Tell us Eric, how were you able to remove all signs of reflection from these screens?

Is cloning out flash reflections not allowed on a.net????

I talked with some of the guys who were there with me that day and told them that I had cloned it, it was their suggestion that I upload.

The shot looked pretty normal to me....maybe I'm not too experienced with flash elimination, but it almost looks like a non-reflective glass surface to me, (like a newer LCD) or just not getting the flash over there.

What exactly is cloning, and is it illegal around these parts?
