Hey all,
After changing the lens on my 20D on Monday, the mirror got stuck in the upright position and "Err 99" appeared on the LCD screen.
After a day of fiddling around (removing batteries, restting camera, trying on other lenses, etc...), the mirror suddenly went back to its original position. Now it seems to work fine (that 70/200 will now stay on that camera and not move an inch), but what exactly happened ?
From dpreview, it appears that there are a number of issues with the 20d, which prompted Canon to issue a new firmware version (already !). Now the catch, it seems that the new firmware "fried" a number of cameras.
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Will

I take anything dpreview says with a pinch of salt! There are some real a**s holes on there!
The firmware has been generally succesfull however the odd one or two people have had problems but canon has stated that these are down to user error when installing!

Just got back from taking shots and changed the lens 5 times with no problems whatsoever.
Got a couple of real nice shots which will hopefully filter through sooner or later.
