Before I upload this photo (highly compressed for Photobucket)...

...does it look level to you? I think it somehow doesn't look right, but I checked with a grid and it seems okay. Your opinion? Also, anything else that might need changing?

Thanks in advance!
Cheers,

It is a small photo to "eyeball", but from what I can see, it looks like the tower is leaning to the left. It looks a bit dark as well.

Yeah, it's tough to tell for sure because of it's size. For a definite answer, I recommend you link us to a full-size version of the shot.

I think the ground is tilted, and that gives the illusion of the tower being crooked too. Again, it's small, so I'm not sure, but it actually looks level to me.

Do you have Photoshop? If so, use the ruler tool to run a line along what you want vertical (or horizontal). Then use the abitrary rotate canvas command and the angle required to rotate will be automatically entered.

Sorry about the size, here's a bigger one (with quality greatly reduced):

I always start with that when rotating, but it's still often hard to get it exactly right. Thanks for the suggestion anyway!

It does look as though the tower is leaning a bit to the left. I haven't used a grid on it, this is just the impression I get looking at it.

using the yellow runway edge marks and the yellow framework on the tower I'd say it needs a degree or so CW to my eyes.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone, I've decided to upload it as is. Hey, if a screener says it looks good, you can't go far wrong can you?  Big grin

There's just a slightest hint of tilt to the left. A 0.2 or 0.3 degree right tilt should do it.

I guess listening to a screener wasn't the best idea in the end - the photo was just rejected for badangle.  Sad

Let's try again. Here's the photo:

Tilting left? 0.2-0.3 degrees CW should do it? Thanks in advance for the additional input.

Cheers,
QantasA332

(If you wouldn't mind, the following photo also got rejected for badangle - what would fix this one? http://www.airliners.net/procphotos/rejphoto.main?filename=airfrance_boeing_fgsqf_n50217_211004_G_4_edited.jpg)

The (revised) Qantas is still leaning CCW - needs a little CW rotation. Just look at the yellow bits of the tower structure, and the side of the glassed area at the top.

The AF also needs CW rotation. Just resize your IE window and line the edge of the window up with the lamp posts. They all lean CCW. It should also have been (or maybe it was and you didn't mention it) for badborders (bottom-left).

Thanks for the tips everyone (and the very kind compliment, SA006)! Below is a revised version, heavily compressed for Photobucket:

Good? Better? I checked with a grid and it seemed okay...

Dunno how I didn't catch that...oops! Embarrassment

The Quantas looks good to me now.

Please don't ask us to level ALL your shots before uploading them!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Of course I won't! It was just this one that I wasn't too sure about...

Thanks for the help!
