I have inherited a large amount of slides...NOT aviation related but since you folks are into photography, I thought I'd ask here...any ideas on what cost would be to get into a minimal but somewhat decent dedicated slide scanner? And ideas for brand/model/vendor?

Thanks!

I can tell you my own opinion about the Minolta Dimage Scan Dual III I have. Very happy with the results and a low price. Don't know prices in your country but is a good idea to try at eBay...

Getting a reply like "eBay" is NOT what I had expected  Sad

I was looking for suggestions on what model you might have, as other reply had, and NOT where to find one...cause it doesn't help to look on eBay when you don't know which models are good and which are not...

John,

I use an Epson Perfection 3170 Photo which has the facility for both film and slide scans. Results are excellent.
Cost in the UK is around £150.

John,

I use a Minolta Scan Dual II (the current version is IV) and I still get excellent results after a couple of years:

The newer models have a higher resolution and additional features, so they may produce even better results.

THANKS for the input on the Minolta! From that, found a review on Steves-Digicam site (was in area I didn't know about) that gives good info...and price is within my tolerance level...$300 at Ritz was first price I found in very quick look...
