I'm not very new to airliners.net, but I have recently begun taking pictures after purchasing a Canon Powershot Pro1 last month. Since then I've been reading the posts here and taking the recommendation to only upload a few pictures at first to get feedback. Since my first submission earlier this month I've had 4 rejections. I have one re-done photo in the ready queue.
The most recent rejection was Air Canada Jazz C-FDJA (new a/c) for 'badqualitybadsize'. Here is the picture I uploaded:
After reading the feedback (curiously linked on the appeal page), I can see now that the size of the photo was probably the major objection. Initially I had some difficulty avoiding some ramp clutter very close to the top of the photo. I have since been successful at re-cropping the photo to 1152x723, which is much closer to 3:2 than the original 1152x619. Here is a small version of the raw photo:
I've re-worked the photo by sharpening the front area, and also adjusted the colors to look not so faded. The sky was overcast and everything looked really drab. Here is my re-worked photo, and I'd appreciate any feedback.
Edit: Just to add my comments on the new "reworked" image. The crop is certainly better but the nose and winglets seem to be a bit soft. Also, as many others recommend, try uploading it at 1024x??? instead of the larger size.
