Hello fellow photographers!
You may remember about 3 weeks ago I posted a message in this forum asking on your thoughts, views, and experiances of having your photos put on to CD. Well I did so and I have my photos back. Below is just 1 of the 48 images on the CD. What are you opinions of the photo itself, quality, etc?

I am really interested to hear your thoughts

Kind Regards

LGW

I havent done anything to the image YET. I am going to and I may try uploading it, worth a try. I am overall happy with the quality of the images from the CD, could be better but I am glad with how they turned out.

Any other thoughts?

Looks very good IMHO. Try sharpening up just a little bit though.

DO NOT just sharpen the image!

Instead, use the Unsharp mask BEFORE resize, THEN sharpen ONCE.

Use roughly 1.0/120/15 on the unsharp mask.(DO NOT change the first figure)

This will sharpen the image without making it grainy.

BTW, what sort of lens was in use?? I have never seen such a sharp raw(unresized) scan!!!

Cullen

A little soft, a little lacking in contrast, however, this is what I would want from a Photo-CD - it is relatively easy to sharpen and add constrast, colour stauration etc. ... not so easy to remove these if overdone! The improtant things here are very smooth tonal gradation and lack of noise/grain.

Cheers,

Colin

What focal lenght was it at when you shot that, and which lens was it, 75-300 or 100-300?

Holy crap!

I heard numerous reviews such as "THE SHARPNESS SUCKS AT 300" and "GOOD FOCAL RANGE BUT THE SHARPNESS IS NOT..." on that lens. How can these guys diss the lens like they do? Unless of course the developer they use makes their photos blurry...and they blame the lens.

OK, I am officially convinced!!

Thanks,
Cullen
