Hello guys,

Can anyone tell me the 3 complimentary colors used in color printing?

I need this info for a job involving cameras and processing.

THanks

Kevin/DCA

THanks, I think it might be Cyan, magenta, and yellow.

I found a site earlier about the 4 colors is Black, cyan, magenta, and yellow.

Confirm that color printers usually use CMY or CMYK. Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK. CMY is sufficient to produce all colors, but tends to result in a greenish-greyish black, so pure black ink is used as well. Printers that have "photo" cartraiges replace the black one with one that has a few more colors (including black) to make the image look better. Often with inkjet printers, you can tell when colors are mixed, so the less you have to mix them, the better.

RGB (Red, Green, Blue) are the three colors used in color monitors.

This large PDF file, from a computer graphics class I am currently taking, will tell you probably more than you wanted to know about how computers do color: http://www.sdsc.edu/~mjb/cse167/Handouts/Color/color.pdf
