I've used it for all my LAS shots, they turned out pretty good, I personally am not very proud of them due to the lack of color and things like that, but that was my very first time using my Digital Rebel for spotting, since then things have gotten better and I no longer use that mode because I go full manual.

Of course you can use it... if light is difficult or changing all the time ( clouds, etc... ) it's quite helpful, but be aware as it will automatically switch to a higher ISO, so shots may get a bit grainy if conditions are not perfect! But it will freeze the action, for sure
