I am from England and I work at my local airport. I am considering buying a digital camera. Which one do you think is the best value, considering the zoom. At the moment I use an SLR with a zoom up to 300mm. Can you develope prints at a shop from a digital like you can an SLR?

On June 11 the Fuji Finepix 6900z will be available in the UK. With a CCD of 3.3 megapixels which will interpolate to 6 megapixels, the performance will be similar to the S1.
A full range of aperture and shutter priority features will be on board plus a TTL LCD viewfinder.
The lense will be equivalent to a 38-210 SLR zoom and can take a x1.5 telephoto adapter. Digital zoom (though you wouldn't want ot use it) will also be on board.
A trawl round the websites and a few phone calls last wek have established the recommended retail @£UK799 but there are already people taking orders with discounted prices as low as £UK725 and these are bound to fall quickly once the camera hits the streets.
SmartMedia storage is used with a 16MB card in the box. You will need much more than this for a good day's shooting of fine quality JPEGS at maximum size.
I'm waiting to read the reviews before buying in July but the camera's predecessor, the 4900Z had most of the features without the new CCD and would give 2.1 megapixels which were interpolated to 4.6 megapixels and the results were excellent.
There are plenty of sites on the web selling these off now for between £UK550 - £UK625.

If you can buy a Olympus C2100, just do it. I have one and it has the function of a regular argentic camera.
It's a 38-380mm zoom with a stabilizer and it's very efficient.
It's really a nice camera. Maybe you can get one on bargain because a new model will be commercialized but without stabilizer. It will be smaller.
