What Flash To Buy For The DRebel/300D?

I want a new flash for Christmas and I was wondering what some of you are using out there on the DRebel. I was thinking of the 420EX, but before I buy one I was hoping to here some feedback on what works good for you. Thanks, Kevin

Yeah the 420EX Speedlight doesn't seem to be too bad of a flash. If you can afford it though, I'd advise you on the 550XE Speedlight  Big thumbs up

I bought the 420EX for my Rebel. To get decent result I use flash exposure compensation +2/3. Bounced and with the Omnibounce the results are great. I would like the 550EX but the 420EX is already too big for me and something bigger would be too much to carry around.

Yeah, I am in the same position. The 220EX is little more than a glorified pop-up and the 580EX is a fortune, so I think I will end up getting the 420EX.

After the 100-400L, the 550EX will be my next upgrade. Then the battery grip and possibly a 10mm lens.

Thanks for your feedback everyone! The 420EX looks good and I think I will get one. A lot of value for the dollar. I like the 550/580 as well but it's a lot more cash than my wife will allow me to spend and I want to stay married ,etc. Smile Oh, by the way, I recently picked up the BG-E1 grip and I love it! The camera feels more solid/better and the battery life is awesome. Kevin
