I am travelling to the States in April and May next year and have been given a definite no-no to taking the laptop by my wife as she says it will be a two week break from a.net ! I have been looking at a Flashtrax for storing my images whilst away and this looks to not be too heavy, something to leave in the hotel or car when out.
Is there anyone out there who uses them who can give me any feedback on whether this is a good idea or not ?
With the dollar so weak against the pound, what are the best prices in the States for these. I will be in Southern California, LA and San Diego if anyone has suggestions on where to get one.

I'm using one, and I think it works pretty well. Copying a CF card is a single press of a button - all files will get copied to a folder on the Flashtrax (date followed by a, b, c, etc.)
The screen is good enough to be able to get a good look at your shots, and the zoom capability is excellent. I went for the 40Gb model since I expect to be going on a couple of week long trips where I will shoot lots. Shooting RAW I should be able to get nearly 6,500 shots on mine.
Once back home, loading from the Flashtrax to the PC is very quick.

Blimey, I didn't expect it to handle RAW too. I expected to have to use JPEG though I now prefer RAW.
Will it read and allow viewing of RAW too ? Canon 10D....

Myself and Chris Muir use Flashtrax, we've had them for over a year now and haven't had any problems with them.
The battery last well, I've downloaded my 1GB card about 8-10 times and still had loads of capacity left. This was in the States with warm temperatures though, so expect that to drop like a stone here this winter!
I don't tend to use the screen to review shots, it's not great. It's good enough that you can see the kind of error that you'd delete straight away but not for fine detail.
The other thing that niggles is the brightness of the LED's, they are far to dim for viewing outside.
