Hi,

Merry christmas to all hope you have all had a great time

Anyway just thinking of getting a new cf card for d100 just wondering anyone that has one or it would be great if someone has the same combo but just want to know does it make a significant difference in raw shooting (or any shooting) in buffer write speed or is the camera slower than the 80x card

To put it differently just want to know if the camera is whats slowing down processing or if it is the card

Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Aaron J Nicoli

For the D100, the Lexar 80x rank at the top.

I do better with the Sandisk Extreme:

Either way, both of these are way better than the 2 second between each picture Sony I have.

I have used the lexar in my 20D and because it writes so fast, I could get about 80 shots before the buffer filled... even then it took no time at all to clear it...

Great card to get...

If you are in the market for a Lexar 80x card, have a look at the packaging before you purchase. The newer, faster cards have a piece of red mylar tape sealing the package at the bottom, as opposed to the clear tape used on earlier models. The "v.2" cards are a bit faster.

For the price you pay for the 4gb card, you could get a 512mb and a 1gb AND A 20GB Portable Hard Drive/MP3 player.
