I'm heading off to BFS on January 5th.  Big thumbs up

I was wondering how I would get to the following areas from the terminal building?

Does the airport have a designated viewing area?

Any help would be great!  Smile

Kind Regards

Cannot help you directly but you might have a look at the Ulster Aviation Society web site, something there or someone there might be better able to help you.

Having driven around BFS a couple of times, I think that any good viewing is probably very limited and given the very recent security situation, I doubt that there is a public viewing area either.

The first two pics are taken from the RAF side and you wont get access without authority to do so.

The second is taken from the airport viewing gallery (glassed in) which is accessible from within the terminal.

As an alternative spot to photograph from, you may wish to consider the approach to r/w 25 around Killead. There is a church on the southern side of the approach where you can getsome nice shots approx 1/4 mile from touch down. You'll probably need a car. If they are using anyother runway, just stay in the terminal.

Contrary to popular belief, the local feds aren't too strict and as long as you are sensible they'll leave you alone. Common sense applies as always.

Thanks for your help.  Smile

Looks like the airport viewing area will be the best option.
