Hi,
Today I was notified by someone thet one of my pictures was being used by the largest national newspaper, both online and as hardcopy. This without my permission, they never asked.
It's both used in the public and members only version which is an online version of the hardcopy. Also I found out that it's used in the printed version. Nowhere airliners or me are credited.

WHOA! So it's not only some loser in a basement that steals pictures from us here. When you see a large, respected paper like De Telegraaf doing it....
All I can say is get in touch with the Dutch association of photojournalists -- there has to be one -- and ask them what the going rate would be for that photo, considering it's also in the print edition. Then double or triple that rate as a compensation for the damage you have incurred; and threaten them with a lawsuit. Never hurts. If in doubt, ask the association what they would do; I'm sure they've had to deal with cases like this one before.
But you've got to really, really come down hard on those idiots. I make my living as a freelance journalist and copyright violations make my blood boil.
