Spotting & Photography At Shenzhen (SZX)

I am planning to take a day excursion from Hong Kong to Shenzhen during a trip to the Far East later this year. I understand that the Ferry Terminal is quite close to the airport. Do any members know if its possible to get to a suitable vantage point (either by foot or by public transport) for spotting / photography at this location?
I would also be interested to know if there is a viewing area or observation deck at the airport....
Any help would be appreciated!
