i just got this email recently and i have responded to him to ask exactly what they want to use the photo for but here's the message...my initial inclination is to definitely seek payment for this but first i need to know how they're going to use it.....anyone else have any thoughts about this?
A new client of ours wants to publish some materials for a new TMA service and they like your photo of N958PG - TransMeridian's 757-200 - may we have your permission to use it with a credit of your name?
You may know that N958PG was John Kerry's aircraft for 6 months last year, and is is still operating with some of JK's livery still in place.

ok i got a response, this time from the actual advertising agency that is interested in using the photos (now two of them they want to use)...here's the message...
Hello Jonathan -
I believe I contacted you via airliners.net, for my request to use a
photo in one of your archives. As I see below, you have already been in
contact w/ our client. To clear up some concerns, the photos will
primarily be used for minor promotional usage, such as posters, flyers,
etc. We would need photos at the best possible resolution, nothing
bigger than a 6x6 inches.
We would certainly acknowledge your name when any of your photos are put
any ideas on how to go about this? it seems to me they are looking for a freebie from me as they didn't mention any compensation - but this was the same person that contacted justin idle about the newspaper TMA photos and they acknowledged there would be a cost with them....bottom line i'm not giving away my photos for free to an advertising agency to use whenever they want and i only get credited with the photo....i think i am going to use mark garfinkel's base price of $425, with a deal for additional photos.....
