Hey everyone ,
As most of you probably saw on the pictures from AMS, we had a lot of snow early March. So.. Naturally I went out for some spotting, and I took this shot:
I submitted it and it was rejected for Badcommon. So, I searched the DB. At the time there were 125 shots of PH-BQA in the database, and only one of those was taken from an angle almost similar to mine:
I appealed it, thinking I'd have a good chance, given the circumstances (lots of snow) and the fact that there was only one picture similar to mine.
Guess what.. I was wrong. Still badcommon.
I assume this is due to the fact that there are already 125 photos of this aircraft in the DB. But isn't more shots better? To get a bigger database? With different angles/views?
I vote that badcommon should be scrapped
I'll probably get now, so go ahead if you can't resist..

Kas
Hows about showing us the full size photo? 125 is alot of photos for one aircraft , as Enrique pointed out. For you to get a shot accepted of that particular plane it has to be of either A) A completely original angle , B) Supreme quality or C) Taken in a different location(eg , Not AMS)

What I don't understand is the consistency of it. Yours gets rejected, but this one was accepted just on March 13. No offense to photog, as it is a very nice photo, just using it as an example. If anything, yours is a more unique angle, and this one is the usual AMS departure angle.

Quoting Mygind66 (Reply 1): 125 is a large number actually and this is a database basically..
I know. That's what must've caused the badcommon rejection without a doubt. But what harm can more pictures do?

Zak, As I said... This is only the 2nd shot of this aircraft from this angle. The screeners can't be that picky, can they...?

Kas, what is the quality on the full size image like? If it is acceptable you will have a hard time. It should be supreme to those already in the DB. Wether or not there is only 1 other shot of a same angle is not important. The fact that there are 125 photos in total is.
