TACA,
I had heard stories of Quantaray lenses in the past. Specifically how they are put together. Sure enough I was shooting a lighthouse off the coast of California with a Q 800-1200 mm lens. I put the lens on the tripod and the body on the lens. I turned to grab my bag. Luckily I had my hand under the camera, because the camera mount on the lens snapped off, and with it my 10D. I caught it, and have since had the part welded correctly back on. I'm
not sure about all of them, but like mine, you get what you pay for.

I have the Pentax *istD, 6MP, and I'm pretty happy with it. If you want to see some of the pictures taken from it, you can follow the links in my profile. They are not exactly reflective of the camera's quality, since most of them were taken with a crappy Sigma 20-200 lens. The one picture of mine in the db, though, was taken with the Pentax 18-55, which I really like.
As for the Quantaray lenses, I have no experience with them, so I can't help you with them.

Quoting TACAA320 (Reply 3): Do did you have bad experiences with Sigma lenses? The pics are just great!
I wouldn't exactly say bad experiences, since Sigma makes some great lenses, it is just that the particular lens I have is an old hand-me-down from my dad, and is a bit too soft for my liking. I am currently saving up for the Pentax 75-300, which I am really looking forward to.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it Sigma who produces lenses for Ritz/Wolf Camera under the name of Quantaray? So technically you're buying a cheaper Sigma lens made to Ritz/Wolf specs....? Might be wrong but I thought I was told that a while ago...

Honestly, I don't know.
But I go quite often to Wolf Camera in Miami, and they sell them both under separate names.
