They normaly close half day on a Friday and closed all day Saturday, open Sunday, this is because they are Jewish owned, as with most of the camera shops there. Be carefull with the prices from B&H as they add about another 7% on top of the price, sales tax. In fact thats for all NY shops. I bought my 'L' lenses there and they can also offer you a worldwide waranty for an extra $30 or so.
Sales tax in NY is 8,625%, as Fergul says; take that into account, Anne.
Quoting Fergulmcc (Reply 4): offer you a worldwide warranty for an extra $30 or so
I am not sure these are worth it, I bought one for my former EOS 300D, and I wrote several e-mails some months ago, when I sold the camera, to transfer the warranty to the new owner, and I am still waiting for a reply. So I wonder how would they act if I needed service
The warranty in question was bought at B&H from: www.mackcam.com

Thanks Javibi, I knew there was a .625 in there somewhere, just couldn't remember the exact figure.

I didn't take the offer of the insurance as my gear is fully insured with my insurance against almost everything. If I have a problem then I just claim off the insurance. Thankfully I haven't had the need. Always insure you gear.
I'd like to, but I did not find any reasonable way to do it here in Spain. My house insurance would charge me an exorbitant amount for it, and I couldn't find any specific photographic equipment insurance.
How much are you paying? Do you know of any company that could accept Spanish clients?
Thanks

There is a UK based insurance site on the net where they insure camera gear. It may benefit you to start a new thread Javibi asking for that site address.
Its meant to be good as I know, Colin Work, uses it, (I think)
I thought I had saved the address, sorry mate!
Fergul
PS Mine is with my household insurance too and it covers my equipment for 6 months away from the house.
