I saw the F-15 pictures. I'm the research supervisor for UGA-Media in the
Netherlands. We are currently working on a refence CD about the F-15. Would you
like to contribute to our cd by letting us use any pictures you might have ? In
case you are intrested please reply with an E-mail to discuss terms. So any
images you might be willing to share will be accompanied with your copyright and
so you will keep full credit for the images. We could as a form of repayment
send copies of the CD. They will have an approximate retail value of $ 40. Or if
you have any other suggestions please let me know.

i noticed the words "contribute" and "share" stuck out like a sore thumb, then he said "to discuss terms"

not sure how to approach this one, or how much to ask...

thanks again..

Cool Cool Cool Cool Coo Chris..

You should find out what this CD the company making will be about?

A game, or a education software or military training stuff. I dont think its reall that much.
Getting a copy is pretty good idea.
If you can, try n find out hwo many they are gona distribute. if its alot. like more than 40 dollar value, then well, go with the good price.. I have no idea how much. Suggesting first and then find a fixed price??
not so sure.
Hope some stuff I mentioned will help you with this.

Bo

They make photo collection CDs. I have two of them (older ones), that are quite nice.
On those two, the photos are stored in a custom format that does not allow them to be opened by another application. I think printing is not possible (though I am not certain, been a while since I used them).
Quality of the photos on those CDs was not too good, but they are old and at the time digital imaging was not what it is today (for the day they were good).
Check http://www.ugamedia.com/ for details (including an entry I think is for the CD mentioned).

As an aside, the CD is listed as appr. $20, not $40. http://www.ugamedia.com/f15/f15cd.htm
Maybe he misquoted the price (wrong currency), or the market price has been increased since the website was last updated.

Hey Chris,
Can't really help you but how about using Joe's self composed "automatic" email and see how it turns out.
Worth a shot

Yeah, here it was...

-----------------

Dear Chris,

First off all for a speedy reply. Second I appreciate the offer. We will
produce a limited quantity of 1000 copies of this CD. It will be mainly for
F-15 enthusiasts and pilots, crewchiefs and Air Force personnel that work on
the F-15. We have no real large-scale commercial interest with this project.
It is something I do on the side and seemed like a nice plan. That is why
this is a low budget project. We don't actually pay contributors. We give as
a form of payment copies from the CD with retail value of approximately
$40, - each. Several photographers (including myself) contribute and we just
would like to have a large file to sort out the best pictures available. So
for any contributor it should be seen as a token of appreciation that we
send CD's. For the photographers another nice piece of their abilities
displayed on a CD instead of a book. It's just a piece of reference material
and for that intention it will be made. It contains a lot of specific data
that can only be read and understood by people that actually have an
aviation background. It is not intended for the housefather to buy his son a
nice gift. I hope this supplies you enough information and gives you an
inside on our intentions. In case you are interested in supplying us with
your photos we would appreciate it if you could send them by E-mail to my
address in JPEG format.

Regards

xxxxxx

hi Chris,

well as i am not a professional photographer i am delighted that he considers my work to be worthy of consideration for a CD and to receive a copy as 'payment' and to be acknowledged as a contributor is fine by me.
I have responded to that effect and will send him the images he requested.

hope this helps
regards
Paul
