Hi all

This question is not for those lucky guys who can use a Microdrive with their digital camera  Smile

I have read recently that there is some sort of portable device/hard drive for users of digital cameras. Just plug in the cable and transfer the pictures. The cost was in the region of about 300.00GBP.

I can get about 70, 1600 pixel wide images on one Sony Memory Stick at 64MB in size. This stick costs approx 100.00GBP

This item would be better than a laptop for me and great for using on trips abroad.

Has anyone came across any info on this accessory?

Thanks and regards

If im thinking of the same thing then your looking for a product called Digital Wallet, they come in various capacities we use 20gb ones at work!

They accept Compact Flash 1 so you would need to get an adaptor, if I remember correctly yours is a Sony cam and they do an adaptor for the memory stick. Their really good powered by a rechargable pack and connect by pcmcia or usb to your PC or lap top dancer  Wink/being sarcastic

Available from all good stores!!!

Gary, you might want to try the Sima Image Bank which can take any size 2.5" hard drive so the hard drive size is what you choose.

If you want more info a good digital camera site is
http://www.steves-digicams.com and the image storage is located here http://www.steves-digicams.com/digi_accessories.html look for " Image Storage Devices "

I bought a 3 gigabyte Digital Wallet 2 weeks ago from Speed Graphic, Alton, Hants.

Phone +44 (0)1420 543366, email sales@speedgraphic.co.uk. Speak/write to David in Sales.

Cost £369.00 inc VAT (£30 less than RRP) but you will need a Sony Memory Stick adaptor. My Smart Media Adaptor was £37.50 so expect to pay around the same.

Works brilliantly and will upload/download any type of data, image, audio file via USB
