The Panorama Terrace gives panoramic VIEWS, but I wouldn't say it is the best place for photography. That distinction has to be held by an official spotting place near the threshold of rwy 06, which offers views like this:

You'll need a car to get there however!

It's a kind of frustating because you can't shot a clean photo. There are many good places outside the airport but I couldn't go there, didn't have time.

This is the best website that shows you where to spot.

While i have been at AMS i have found that the majority of these spots give good photo oppertunitys but a long lense may be needed!

This should be all the information you need, the website i believe no longer exists, luckily i downloaded it before it disappeared and have uploaded it to my webbie.

Thanks to Martin Hamelink for an informative website.

Some info to go with that map:
points J and K (rwy 01R) are usefull only early mornings, as the rwy closes at about 08:30 (arrivals). Long lens for departure shots (rwy 19L)
points G and H (rwy 01L) require a very long lens, as departing aircraft will be quite high when they reach it (normally). Usual steep right turn after clearing the rwy (takeoff runway).

I wish I were flying
