Hi all!
Lately the badcategory rejections get overhand because people not reading and/or following the help-text on the upload page.
So please check the correct category when uploading.
Some examples:
Hybrid/Special Marking
The help text on the category "Hybrid/Special marking" is the following
===
Hybrid / special marking
This includes all kinds of unusual paint schemes that doesn't fit into the Special Paint Schemes category. Examples are mixtures of two airlines paint schemes (hybrids) or special markings that are limited to one or a few aircraft. Airliners without paint scheme or in an all white paint scheme should also be included here. Note that this is ONLY for airliners! Not for helicopters, blimps, props etc.
===
So this planes for example should be uploaded under that category:
Government
Many Universities in the USA seem to own planes. Some of them come up with the government category selected. This should per definition for the database not be the case!!!!
Single engine prop
don't forget to select this category if its a single engine prop!!!! Sounds easy but happens quite frequently.
Just to name the most common errors.
Note that screeners have no checkboxes to change the wrong categories in a easy way. If we change it we have to type a lengthy text for each category in a field separated by commas. This is simply too time consuming. So all the wrong categories get rejected. Which doesn't really reduce the Q size because they come up again this time hopefully with the correct ones selected.
So please take your time to RTFM (Note the smiley) that's why Johan did those help text links on the upload pages.
Thanks for reading this and reading the help text links!
Help us to help you.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW DATABASE EDITOR
Just a few other points on categories that I see as common mistakes.
Single engine props should be listed as "Single engine prop" not "Airliner or other"
Most non-airline jets(BBJ, Global Express, Challengers, Citations, etc.) should be list as "Business" not "Private"
"Tail / Winglet" and "Nose" apply only to airliners not Military, props, business etc.
