Now that prescreening process is working there is no need for travel list anymore - since the reason for travel list was to allow Johan to look only good pictures while not being able to view many pictures due to lack of time and/or slow internet connection on trips so that he could add certain number of photos on daily basis since the photos which passed prescreening will be of good quality and the acceptance rate of these photos will be high it is time to return to strict FIFO queue

The prescreeners just take out the crap. The rest isn't necessarily good enough for acceptance. Just not total crap.

Jan is right. The prescreeners simply weed out the obvious ones. Any picture which is a borderline case or better gets passed on to Johan.

If the prescreening process works, which I hope it does, maybe the travel list will die of natural causes.

I'm waiting for the first person to complain because of a photo being rejected by a prescreener.

I got one rejected....it was a Spanair Link 717 tail at LGB. The quality is fine.

The photos were either of low esthetic qualities (bad angle, included window reflections, pictured just a part of an aircraft, out of focus or similar), pictured an aircraft far in the distance or did not picture an aircraft at all.

That's why we probably won't learn the names of the prescreeners, to avoid more personal discussions.

Hi all

Johan is currently working on the scripts as there might be a problem with some of the rejection messages hence some pictures being rejected.

These guys have to get used to the system and rejections that should not happen, will happen.

Yesterday was the first day of the 'Screeners'

Please don't ask for the Screeners names as at this moment in time as Johan won't tell you and neither will the Screeners  Smile

Have a good weekend all.

PHOTO SCREENER

Hi Dazed767,

The rejection sounds logical to me........"Spanair Tail Photo" rejected because "pictured just part of an aircraft"????

Just my 2cents worth.

Hmmm. This is what I was concerned about with this system - screeners rejecting photographs that Johan would not have rejected.

If this is that case, I best not upload any pictures until the system settles down again then. Wouldn't want to jeopardise my reject rate, would I!  Big grin

I got one picture rejected, saying that the picture was not mine!!!

I mean, I took the picture with my camera, paid the development of the negatives, scanned those negatives, uploaded this picture about 3 or 4 times, everytime improving the scan, everytime getting rejection, that the quality wasn't good enough, and now they tell me, the pic is not even mine!!

I hope it was a mistake, and they reconsider that decision, after I sent an email back, explaining that mistake.

Gerardo

I think that as with any new system, it's going to take a little time until everything works perfectly. You're now having several different people looking at photos, rather than just one. Don't forget, Johan has been doing this for years, and the screeners have been doing it for a day! There's bound to be a learning curve for them! I certainly won't let it put me off uploading any photos. I mean, what else am I gonna do, just hang on to them indefinitely?

How's the queue looking?  Smile
