No, this isn't a moan at the screeners. No, i'm not leaving the website because I can't get my pictures onto the site anymore. I'm not even suggesting a photo is fake! My goodness! No, I am selling my beloved Canon D30. Unfortunetely my new found status of 'very poor student' has meant that I have to sell my camera and all it's accessories. To be fair I haven't been out much for ages, it's much harder to photograph at my local airport now and I haven't got much impetus to go there.
It's served me well and it's a shame that this is pretty much the end of my photography career (aviation and non-aviation). We've had some good times for sure! I've listed it on ebay for a reasonable price and am hoping that someone will buy it. Just on the off chance if anyone see's anything I should change on the page please tell me because I don't want it to be facetious! the auction (sob!) is here:
For some reason it doesn't come up when I search for 'Canon D30'. Does it take a while for the search to refresh or have I done something wrong?
Well, I guess this is Auf Wiedersehen from me, happy shooting guys! Once my camera is sold i'll be buying a small camera along the lines of the Sony P-200 or Canon A95 just for holiday snaps and fun at uni.. The lack of video capability on the D30 is quite annoying.

Sorry to see you go. Hopefully one day you can come out of retirement and buy a D2X and get some more pics on here. Good luck to you along the way. One thing is certain this site will be here!

I'm sure also! I'm going to try and get some sneaky pictures on here with whichever camera I get, i'm sure it's possible! I definitely won't be leaving the community and I'm still here to give bad advice! Its just a shame that I had to sell it (or otherwise risk my possessions being repossessed ). Oh well, I just hope it sells quickly, i'm on borrowed time! .

Lol, I've been there my friend (selling all my gear and quitting aviation photography)...several times. The latest was about this time last year. I was so burnt out on aviation photography, sick of being at the mercy of good weather, and tired of being treated like a terrorist whenever being approached by the police.
Well, after about a year away from it...here I am. I just bought all new gear a few weeks ago, and I've been out shooting several times now. It's good to be back.
As I said before...I've done this several times. I always come back. I'm sure I'll have those feelings again, but next time, I will NOT sell my gear!!
A break sounds like exactly what you need, but I am willing to bet you'll get the itch for it again sometime down the road!!

It's not a question of being peeved with photography though. I'd be more than willing to keep my gear if I had money. Hell even if I had enough money to buy a cheap digicam for parties and stuff i'd keep it but it's really more of a money thing than a 'man aviation photography sucks now' thing. I'm sure i'll be back in business when i'm a fully qualified pilot and earning big bucks but until then I'm going to be DSLR-less. I am pretty sure I will be back with vengeance some day, Bailey your ass is mine! .
