As you can see, it is a mockup of a 767 refueling probe. There have been many discussions about simulators here, and this doesn't seem to fit in the "allowed" list. I also would have just sent out an e-mail, but if this type of picture is now allowed, I thought everyone should know about it.
BTW This is nothing against you, Miguel, I was browsing your photos and they're all pretty sick!

If my memory serves me correctly - absolutely NO simulator pics are allowed into the database (after a certain date). This became a rather heated debate a year or so ago, and I understood that the final answer was NO MORE sim pics. That being said, since this pic was allowed in - then I suppose the rules have now changed. Bring on the simulator photos!!! (I have a couple myself!)

This is exactly what I am referring to. If someone could clarify the current standing of the simulator rule, that is all I, and I'm sure others, are looking for.
Quoting PUnmuth@VIE (Reply 2): We accept simumator photos under the following definitions.
Only full motion (airliner) simulators
Superior quality shots
No manuals, beers, etc. on the pic
Clearly stated that it is a simulator, thus no registration for example
Note that we do not have a "simulator" category and are currently unable to add one. However, in the future that might very well happen and then it is of high importance that it is mentioned in the remark field that the photo is of a simulator.

So with all due respect to Miguel, he is a fine photographer, is his "playstation" refueling demonstrator going to be deleted?
From what I read it clearly doesn't meet the criteria.
I find myself agreeing with both Eric & Peter, a quick search might have found the links, and a quick answer why Miguel's picture was/was not eligible could reduce some of the difficulties this forum sometimes faces
Finding those links does not explain why this photo was accepted, if it was a simple mistake, accept it and we will as well, if the rules are evolving, just say so

Chris
If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

Eric is correct,
I agree with Peter's point that a quick search would find some explanation.
AND
I agree with Eric's point that a quick explanation rather than the standard "do a search" would avoid some aggravation.
Quoting PUnmuth@VIE (Reply 15): And yes we are discussing the photo internally.
And thank you for that.

Chris
