Hello guys,

I was just browsing myaviation.net & was surprised how many fantastic photos are hidden there, barely noticed by the public. And these here are just air-to-air shots.

TS
Some people like me upload to both sites and tick accordingly on the upload page.
These shots could also be on Anet .
Just to give you an example all my accepted uploads to Anet are also on Myaviation.
The pics you have are certainly Gems
Cheers

nice thread.....

there are a few really good photos here, i like the Emirates one especially, i looked on A.net for this image and it was not there, i can only imagine this image was uploaded to both? and then rejected for "bad centre" in Anet which is a shame.

Are there photog's out there that only upload to Myaviation?

If so we are going to miss a few of these gems, if i was a screener i would have rejected this for badcentre however i would have put some personal comments on for the photographer enabling him to re-upload the shot and get it accepted into Anet.

WHat would happen in a situation where someone submits a pic for Myaviation ONLY and its a spectacular shot.?
Would the screener ask for it to be placed in Anet also ?
Just Curious as some of these shots are great its a shame if they are not on Anet also.

Hi guys,

Just reading through this tread. Those photos are amazing. If only I could get some shots like that myself!

I used to only upload to MyAviation because I just could not get anything accepted here. I used to get very angry with not only the screeners (sorry guys! You all do a great job.) but with myself that I just couldn't cut it for A.net. Maybe some are feeling the same?? I dunno just a guess.

Still, to those who took them, Well done!! They are great.

I guess not, uploader can decide as the only person where he wants to upload his photo to. I am sure there are lots of genius photos in there!

Good thread TS!

cheers,
Florian

No the a.net screeners won't do so. Its the photographers decision.

Not really difficult to get these pictures if you nick them off off of the corporate Airbus site, like two of these would-be photographers did!  Angry Angry Angry
They should be removed.
No offence to the other guys who did post their own pictures: they're great!

Those two above have now also been deleted, and I'll email that guy in a minute.

Images (not the large version I don't think) are checked to make sure they're aviation related, so sometimes images like those will slip through. Luckily we've got plenty of visitors to let us know when this happens Big grin

Yes, there are some gems over there, but, I usually give up looking as they are often hard to find. Having said that, I do admire the top uploader for the sheer quantity of his output over a relatively short period. I wonder if he's ever had any rejections?

OK here is a question for you all.
What would happen if a photo was taken by a photog and a website steals it then the photog is blamed for stealing the pic from the website .
Just being fair for all we know these guys that uploaded the emirates shot could have been the photog that took the shot ??
Maybe airbus asked to use the pic how are we to know ?

Hi Guys,

Interesting topic! I have often wondered about this subject. I've been uploading to MyAviation for quite some time, as I knew most of my shots weren't good enough for A.net, nor was my camera up to the task. I've been using it to hone my skills, and it seems to have been working, although it is a long and painful process!

You can also use MyAv to upload those good "extra" shots, or series, as well as a repository for all your "bad-doubles!" There really is a lot of good stuff there, it just takes longer to weed through some of the junk.

Now I mostly use it to post all of my Cleveland shots...good or even so-so. My goal was to just document a lot of stuff that came in here, even if the quality wasn't 100% I was chagrined at first when I saw the caliber of some of the other stuff that was getting posted there. ( Model airplanes, etc.) It made me feel like this was the best company I could keep, and THAT was a bit depressing! Since the option to post on both sites has been available on the upload page, it's gotten better.

I now have a new camera and 159 hard-won shots here at Airliners.net, and 1,092 on MyAviation. Ryan, I couldn't help but notice that my ID at MyAv is immediately after yours!

http://myaviation.net/?uid=775

Check them out if you want, a lot of CLE shots, some scans, etc. You can actually see my development as a photographer and editor as you go through the years.

Just my two cents!

Cheers,
Chuck  Smile

Hi Chuck and Ryan !

100% agree.
I like it to learn and to upload on Myaviation.net.
A few shots are good enough for a.net the other ones can be seen here.

Hope to see a lot more of you all on both sites !

Regards

Werner
