Hi all,
I seem to have lost my ability to upload acceptable pics recently. I won't blame anyone, my splendid 25% acceptance ratio simply doesn't ly... Yet, it seems to me that my previous 23 accepted uploads were achieved with less rejections. My acceptance ratio has in any case started to drop dramatically only recently, after being higher at least for the last few months. I also think I've had some "unlucky" rejections recently (some badmotives), that could have gone 'accepted' as well, IMHO. Quality requirements may have increased again as well maybe?
That being said, I'm looking for some help with this particular pic. I am aware of some of the various work flows that people use, and have my own more or less established formula that has proven to be useful (sort of...) in the past.
This pic indeed has heat haze, it has a blurred foreground (depth of field), but that can't be fixed really. It may also be a bit soft, but are there other reasons for badquality, which I could fix? Considering this would be the first pic in the DB of this aircraft type for this airline, I still want to try and get it in.
Oh, and anyway... It's just planes - there's more for me to photograph and enjoy... Meanwhile, I'll continue to try to upload here... 5 pics at a time... Keep

Hiya have not read all of above, but it appears you have used Neat Image maybe which always causes problems with sofness and sharpness, But it looks almost blurry and soft to me.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW PHOTO SCREENER
The shot looks to be fairly low quality, maybe slightly out of focus, and has been oversharpened. And there does appear to be some noise reduction in play, the plants look like a Monet.
Perhaps a rework from scratch or choose another shot of the same subject to work from.

No I didn't use neatimage - it was all done in PSP9, though I did use the noise reduction tool in that application.
Thanks all for your input. Looking at the original raw file, Clickhappy, I guess you're right and I'll try one of the other shots I have (they have a less interesting angle, unfortunately).
