I don't have one. Nevertheless I read every single commentary in the following link. Seems to be a very good camera:

I can't answer that, but a general word about this category of camera that may be of benefit.

Regarding value to money. With this type of camera being used for aviation photography, you should spend as much as you can reasonably justify and spend it wisely, so read as many reviews as you can. I don't know how much you can afford to spend and I don't know how much this camera is, but if you can afford a little more, try looking at the latest bunch of 12x Optical zoom, image-stabilised, 5 mega-pixel super-zooms from various manufacturers. A 6x zoom is very useful for Airliners, but a 12x zoom is even better as it will be of great benefit for military, light aircraft and airshow use. Like wise, the extra pixels of a 5 megapixel sensor is beneficial - it makes it easier to capture a moving target with sufficient quality, as the aircraft can be of the made up of the same number of pixels without it having to be full frame. This gives you a bit more leeway without the risk of cutting off parts of the aircraft.

I used to use a Fuji S602Z - 3 megapixels with 6x optical camera. A great camera for its day, but 3 megapixels requires a full frame shot for decent quality (so probably restricted to statics only these days) and the 6x zoom often left me wanting more at airshows and GA fields - no problem for airliners though. You therefore might find 6x zoom a little short in certain situations.

The 12x optical zoom, 5 megapixel, image stabilised cameras currently available offer an excellent price/performance ratio to the aircraft photographer who does not wish or cannot to afford to go DSLR and is well worth the extra outlay. Many suppliers also offer slightly cheaper versions with slightly reduced features, such as 4 megapixels or 10x optical zoom if your budget won't extend.

Whatever, you choose, don't regret it - there is no such thing as a perfect camera. Just try to find one with the features you really need rather than features that sound cool but you'll never use.

Best regards,

Jim

Erm, is this thing on?
