Does Canon Assemble Bodies In Clean Rooms?

Since I actually own two brand new Canon cameras [Power Shot Pro1 and Rebel XT (D350)], I'm a little concern about what I read in another thread... "... Canon doesn't actually assemble the bodies in clean rooms."

This is not an accusation against Canon nor a doubt about what another A.netter said. But since it is possible the cause of some dust spots in brand new Canon bodies, I want to hear your experiences and your knowledge in this regard. My personal experience with Canon [another products like printers, scanners, etc.] is simply GREAT. No complaints at all. I'm not referring to my cameras, because as an amateur, I'm still reading the instructions and learning how to use them the best. Nevertheless I was "practicing" with the Power Shot and I consider that my first shots are great.

Thank you all in advance for your comments.

Wouldn't it just be easier to ask Canon?

Thanks for the info, but I already did it. No answer get yet [via email].

Nevertheless, I will appreciate some A.netters opinions.

In my opinion? No

Do I care? No

You just clean it when you get it. My 20D is still STUFFED with dust. Can't do much about it. You just take what you have a move with it.

Thanks again,

Matt

A new camera at that price shouldn't come with dustspots from the factory. Maybe Canon are producing so many that QC can't keep up.

TACA, chances are they most likely won't answer your email either. If they do, it will be a form email saying they appreciate your feedback. If you call them, they will sound befuddled and will not know what to tell you. If you get a good CSR, he/she will invent a believeable story.

Absolutely right.

Their answer don´t even deserve to be post here.
