Hi

Does anybody have an airport map of Boston International Airport with all the runways, may be with description of good photo locations?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Andi

I use approach plates myself. Do not show the spotters locations of course, but you can mark those as you find them (or get told them)

You should try either of the following:

http://acc.nos.noaa.gov/AirportDiagrams/00058AD.pdf

or

http://navigator2.maptech.com/homepage/index.cfm?scale=25000&lat=42.364348&lon=-71.005179&type=1&zoom=50&scale=25000&BPID=MAP0060030900

or

http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/image.asp?Lat=42.35435&Lon=-71.00518&W=1

Sorry but I can't help with the photo locations since I've never shot there.

Cheers,
Felix

TAPPAN!!!

I'm in Belmont!!! A couple of my favorite places to go for Logan is that park in Winthrop that you were talking about - It's so out of the way....no one ever goes there, and it's a great place for both landings and takeoffs. Another place I like is That park... Constitution Beach? Anyway, its right off Orient Hieghts T stop (blue line), and they have benches, and girls with swimsuits. Ahhh, what could be better? (but you'd need a pretty good zoom lens to get anything good from there.

Not true ......I have been there many many times as I just lived around the corner...and Mark has been there as well and occasinonlly people just stop their car and take a look....prime location for shooting dep and arr on 27.......

BOS in general is not flooded with people interested in aviation photography at all.....and I hope it will stay that way......

This site is the best. Put in the Airport ID, and it'll give you a map.

When I was in BOS I found that the park was a little too far away, my 400mm was barely enough. Also, the light there is pretty bad until the PM hours. Something to consider.

btw- vasco, I drove right by your place ("accidentally" while scoping out places to shoot). You had a nice view!

What I meant by "no one ever goes there" was that there aren't usually very many people there, and I've never seen one with a camera (except myself). In fact, I've been there alone many times.

And you are right: I've noticed that aviation is not very big around here. I actually live about ten minutes from Hanscom.

BTW, did you ever hear why that Cape Air C-402 crashed on takeoff? I was curious about it, but I never heard what the cause was.
