Hi Lew,

I can only say what Simon already said. Don't worry about it!
It sure doesn't look fake to me and I'm 100% sure it's not fake. Why would you fake a picture like that?

Tell the people that email you about this to stop bothering you!

Lew have you been photoshopping !! Surely that could never be real Big grin

BUT seriously I know where you took that shot and know it is 100% real. I would take it as a compliment that people think its a fake and ignore them.

Keep em coming .. Jid

Can you elaborate on how/why they thought it a fake? I've studied the photo for ages and can't see the slightest bit fakiness in it!

Basically the e.mails were all along the lines of:

"Hi,

This shot in the database of yours is a fake, why have you uploaded a fake shot? i have suggested deletion of this picture"

Different wording on each one, and the name being different.. 7 e.mails it total.

Well, Lew showed me the original file for this photo, so I saw what it REALLY looked like  wink .

I am a bit bemused as to what people think is fake about this photo. Any ideas?

Looks to me like the aircraft is in bright sunshine, but the distance is not. This is not that unusual a situation to meet here in the UK and it can make for some really nice foreground lighting and background-condition combinations. I accept it can look a bit odd (dramatic even), but it happens! This one of mine has similar lighting conditions I think:

I am sure many of us can find similar ones among our collections.

This is intriguing.

At the risk of plugging, I emailed Lew to compare a shot I have in the database where there was similar bright lighting in an otherwise dark sky:

In fact, these aircraft look very similar, but for some reason these characters didn't email me to make accusations.

Having said that, judging by our relative hits for these photos, they probably didn't see mine  biggrin .

heh i got all of that down. Photoshop has so many little bells and whistles and only way to make anything believable (or funny as hell) is from loads of experiance.

The e-mailers obviously know nothing of MAN's unique weather!

I was taking shots at Ringway 20 years ago, very similar to the one in question, MAN is renowned for it's ability to produce a dark background and brilliant sunshine-it is after all the shower capital of the UK!

If I still had all my old pics, I would gladly share them to prove my point. Don't forget also in those days we only had film to shoot with,no digi or photoshop to make shots look better.

It's a fine shot Lew,keep em coming mate.
