I am planning a trip to ZRH on the 18th and 19th of August and was hoping for some advice. I haven't been to ZRH since the new approach paths went into effect and wasn't sure what the impact was. From searching photos in the database, it looks like 34 is used early in the morning and then operations switch back to the normal 16/14 arrivals. Does anybody know when that switch normally occurs? I want to try to get approach shots of the Thai 340-600 and don't want to be sitting at the end of the wrong runway.
Also, does anybody know where you can shoot 34 arrivals from? I don't think that the deck is open early enough (I think it opens at 8) and wasn't sure if the garage was close enough to shoot from (300 mm lens). Any information would be much appreciated.

Shoot from the parking garage number 3, from the top floor ( 10th ).
If you've a car, just drive up there by following the signs guiding you ( it's a bit expensive to stay there longer, though ).
If you're in the terminal, go to the check-in area 3, then take an escalator up 1 floor, and then the elevator to parking deck 3, to the 10th floor. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
The Thai 346 usually arrives around 7am, so I'd pick a weekend for that one.
