Hi there,

If another photographer also has a "newer" rejection, of the same file name..

Example:

I upload IMG_0001.jpg and it gets rejected and goes into the "rejection" directory on a.net, and another photography later uploads the same, IMG_0001.jpg the image will be different, but if that is then rejected, it automatically goes into the place which had your filename. Your info will stay the same, because thats what you "wrote" on your "profile" when you uploaded..

I have a few myself in my rejection list.

Hope this helps,

Lew

I saw this in my early days before I started using a bit more complicated upload ID's for my photos.

With hindsight, I think the issue was that I used to simply use the plane's registration as the filename for my upload and, if anyone else had the same ID for their file, they may get confused. Something like that anyway.

Would I be right in thinking that you label the files just with the registration? I now use the registration plus my initials and the date of the photo to try to minimise any problems with duplicate file names.

Yep, someone has uploaded a photo with the same file name, and that has been rejected too.... so it pushes yours "out" the system and replaces it with the newer "rejection" image... which had the same filename when uploaded... eg continental2.jpg.

I found this out when one time I had a rejected picture and I thought I had fixed it and it was rejected again and both rejections where the same picture.
 confused

Oh and I use this easy naming of file names. Reg_file name.

Examply

N123AA_1234
then if I get a reject, I just add _1 to the end.

I use a similar system, but slightly different. I have never had a file rejected for the same file name. A typical photo would be:

Registration_type_Location_photo number_Date. ie:

N12345_752_KCLE_1_07Aug05

Then I know at a glance what it is, when and where it was taken.

If I have more than one shot of the same plane on the same day, I simply change the "1" to a "2" and so on.

It is quite a good idea to incorporate your user name into the file name. Then as long as no one else perversly uses your user name in their uploads (why would they?) you wont experience this problem.

I use this kind of file name:

Registration_Airportcode_Date_Photographer Initials_Camera filenumber_1 etc.
