There are quality issues with both photos.
If you take a close look at the Airbus shot you can see what looks like jpeg compression - 'something' around the edge of the aircraft, particularly noticeable around the tail section and the titling. The red tail of the Airbus shows that 'compression-type' of appearance. I recall seeing a similar effect with the use of Neat Image - did you use this by any chance? There is a similar - though slightly less obvious - effect on the DC-10 photo.
Also both photos look like they could benefit from being a bit sharper. The DC-10 has some notable jaggies on top of the nose section, where it joins the fuselage, which I reckon you should be able to get rid of.
