Hi everyone
I just have a few questions. I have started uploading only about 2 months ago, since I got my SLR camera and had upload-worthy shots. Before that, I uploaded everything, whitout even cropping it, shaprening it or anything like that, with a crappy digital camera. I could upload 20 at a time if I wished to!
Today, there is this upload limitations. I absolutely don't critisize this, I think it's a good thing, even though I have tens of shots waiting to be uploaded. My queue is limited to five (45 shots uploaded, about 70% acceptation), so It'll soon change to 10 or 20.
My question is: how come that with these new regulations, the queue is still SO long? Is it because it's summer up here in the northern hemisphere? It stands at 12000. Thanks to the screeners, you do a hard job. I just thought that the idea would take the queue down...
Another question, completely different: There was the US/HP merger new c/s picture yesterday on the db that was taken yesterday. How are these pictures so fast on the db? Same for the A380 first flight. It was 1 hour (!) after on the db. Thanks a lot for these answers.
It's not about AIRBUS. it's not about BOEING. It's all about the beauty of FLYING.

The queue would be even longer if it wasn't for the new upload limits.
Important shots are screened as soon as possible - this keeps A.net in the forefront of aviation related news. Photographers ask for priority screening if they feel it is justified.

Yes it doesn't seem to be halping much the new regulations. I have photos in there from the 15th which is 9 days and there are onliy around 150 photos in screening from 9 days ago. None of which are mine.

Hi,
i´d say without the new Q Regulations there would be around 20K photos waiting for Screening. just a guess though...
But it´s also a shame that srceeners actually have live!
Maybe A.net should hire more screeners from Germany.
With this kind of summer here, there´s nothing much to do but sitting in your home staring at a monitor...

That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college!

Quoting IL76 (Reply 4): I hope you realise that your username might cause some laughter around Dutch (and probably Flemish) people. This is Pipo for us
Damn. Well, I'm some kind of a clown myself Cheers

Yes, we screeners still have a life... occasionally, that is. Take today: I was allowed out of confinement to shoot some shots myself. However, the contract stated that I had to be back home before dusk for the nightly screening session, to catch up what time I've lost doing unimportant things...
Ed, yes, Pipo de clown sparked some laughter here as well.

Well, I was extrememly sceptical about the new system, but have since revised my view and now find it fine.
As to the queue length, at this time of year, with the amount of airshows, holidays etc, I think it is pretty reasonable with the screeners who aren't swanning around some beach working hard to get everything through.
We all have to understand that screeners are human - well, mostly - and also unpaid.
Just hang in there. The pictures will get screened eventually and hopefully there'll be a nice surprise in the e-mails!

PS - Kirkie, your a bounder and a cad sir, when is your next ban due?

Quoting Granite (Reply 8): I've been on reduced screening mode for the past two weeks.
Hello to everybody..
Gary..Reading your notes it seems like you ( Crew in general ) are a machine not a human being. I think the queue is not that bad, this is summer time and in nothern Europe is supposed to have the best weather conditions for photography, at least concerning hours of sun...
You should consider ( or Johan..) a rotation giving 1 week every 4 ( is just an example ) rest or things like that..

Quoting Tamsin (Reply 12): I have the feeling Elvis won't be performing at your Christmas party this year too
How do I get in touch with Elvis to book him well in advance?
The queue has done fine up until now and it has been a vast improvement on last year. I don't know about other countries but here in the UK the last week of August tends to be one of the most 'holidayed' weeks of the year and I sincerely hope that includes the Screeners as well. I can wait a bit longer 'cos I want you guys/gals to be relaxed, refreshed and raring to go when I get round to sorting out all the summer snaps and uploading them over this autumn!!

Yes you are. Hope that BMW's still treating you well. The queue IS really long, I had to wait 13 days for my first acceptance, and it's excruciating when it's a question of whether it's my first one or not! Haha.
It may be wise, though I am in no position to try and change things around here, to modify the upload page to say that responses can be expected within 10 business days, especially during the summer. Then, in the winter time, when fewer people are on vacation, the queue may get shorter and responses would come more quickly.

Oops...how can I forget when I was IN the car with you, haha. That gorgeous M-class. So yeah, I'm coming back to Switzerland next summer from May 28 until July 5 with friends from school so we should try and organize something new, even though it's a year away, haha. And yes I agree, let's make this queue shorter, somehow.
