Hello,

I have some Photos from my recent holiday, and some of them are causing some trouble!

I have uploaded this one, but I would like your views on the size of the Photo, and if the ratio is correct. Should the Wheel be cropped out?

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/big/ready/BRITANNIA.jpg

Any other suggestions or remarks are also appreciated.

I will be adding to this thread with other questions.

I look forward to your replys as usual.

Best Regards,
Ryan M

Aspect ratio is WAY off, but cropping the wheel won't work. What did the full frame look like? I would hope there's more to the right of the frame, and I'd look for a good place to crop farther along the fuselage. If all the horizontal you cropped was to the left, I think you'll have a hard time with it. I would suggest cutting off the top of the plane (Either just above or just below the whole drip rail on the L1 door) instead of the nose gear, if you really have no other option. But I'm not a screener, so make of that what you will.

One more thing, there are some compression artifacts around the "World of TUI" titling. Can you save at higher quality?

i just checked my suggested crop, and I don't like that either. Hope there's more of the frame to the right.

Firstly, thanks for your time on this, thanks for having a go at cropping it for me

Unfortunately, the Photo was taken with my arms outside an open transfer bus window, and, as you will see below, there was a Airport worker standing to the right:

Maybe this one is worth a bash, (Cropped correctly)?:

The compression I can rectify   It is purely down to my experimentation after reading a Photography Book

When he moved, the Bus moved, and, I put the Camera securely inside the bus so I didn't drop it. Anyway, here's some (Unedited) Photos

Here is another question:

This Photo, is the Motive O.K? (Unedited)

Personally, I love it, as it shows the Crew Seat, Toilet and Britannias new Interior with the Seat-Pocket on the head rest.

What do you think?

Thanks
Ryan M

I'm still not sure, but I'm afraid I think the best shot you'd have for the external shots would be the first one, uncropped. I think the ramper being there is better than an awkward crop. He's not personally identifiable, nor does he obstruct the aircraft. Might still not work (In fact, it probably won't), but I think that would be the approach I'd look most favorably upon of those that are available to you.

As for the interior shot, my own guess (Which is all it is) would be that the site would probably not consider the motive justified. It just feels like trying too hard to get all three of those features into a single frame, with not as much compositional coherence as I think the screeners like to see. Further, even if you get the motive past them, I think you'll have a tough time with the blown highlights due to the cabin windows.

Thanks for your help! I have taken your advice and not included the Interior Photo in the Queue.

Here is the Nose Photo in the Queue:

Lew, (TFSPhoto) helped me sort out some of the editing.

Thanks to both of you!

How can I aviod this Jpeg compression?

It really is getting thinning my patience now:

For Example:

Or is it just my monitor?

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers, Ryan :D

Is it there on the original camera files? You need to go higher-quality (Lower-compression) to avoid it, either when you take the picture with the camera or when you save it in your photo editing program.

I think the 757 nose shot will get BadMotive. The man is to distracting to the eye.

Simon.

It's not on the originals, and thankfully I have fixed the problem by saving in TIFF format until it comes to saving for the final time.

The G-BYAP Photograph is staying in the queue, because I still think it has a good chance.

Here is a Photo rejected today for badquality:

I feel it was the grain. Do you agree?

Here is what I have replaced it with: http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/big/ready/wing1DONE.jpg

Thanks!  Smile

Hi Ryan,

The wing look's rather soft to me, could do with some more sharpening.
I still think that the nose of G-BYAP will get a badmotiv rejection, due to the head that distracts the eye.

Simon Nicholls

Cheers Simon,

I might take the AP Photo out, and I will sharpen the Wing now.

EDIT: http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/b...g/ready/wing1DONEGBYARINFLIGHT.jpg

Looks worse  Sad

Many Thanks,
Ryan
