Hi

What kind of experience did you make when you let the photo lab (Kodak, Fuji and/or all the others) scan the slides for you and send them back to you on a photo CD? Are you satisfied with the quality/result?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

Andi

From what I've seen, results are varied. Some do a beautiful job, others suck. You'll have to experiment in your area for which lab does the best.

Cheers,

Charles

I have had mine scanned and results went from poor to bad beyond descripton.

Hi
Almost all of my photos on A.net are scanned by my photo lab using a technology called ImageCD (still saving for my own film scanner). Note ImageCD is not Kodak Photo CD or Picture CD, nor is it a Fuji format CD. The scans at the highest resolution need to be reduced in size and can even be compressed at bit for uploading.

I've never had one of these scans rejected due to poor image quality. Only problem is they are quite expensive to do here in Australia.

regards
Ian M.
