Hello All,

I got two picture recently rejected for bad motive. I really don't thing they fall into the bad motive category. The email I have received form the screeners looks strange eighter.

" This mail is sent to you to confirm that some or all of the photos you recently uploaded to Airliners.Net (http://www.airliners.net) have been through the screening process.

This is the status of your photos that have undergone screening so far:

-----------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately we have had to reject one or more of your photos.

In many cases it will be possible to rectify.......................

If you do not agree with the screener's decision.......

We have had to reject the following photos:

- Dublin_Airport_10_09_05_93.JPG (Ryanair Boeing 737-230/Adv) http://www.airliners.net/procphotos/...ame=Dublin_Airport_10_09_05_93.JPG

These photo(s) show a motive that is not accepted by Airliners.net..... please go to http://www.airliners.net/procphotos/reasons.php#motive

The aircraft depicted in these photo(s) is very common in the Airliners.net database, with many photos of this aircraft already present on the website. In such cases, the standards for acceptance are higher than for aircraft of which we have fewer or no photographs on the database, and only photos of exceptional quality will be accepted.
If you want to read more about this issue, please go to http://www.airliners.net/procphotos/reasons.php#common "

Eveything looks clear in this first part, now the second part of the email confuses me.

-----------------------------------------------------------

"We have accepted the following photo(s) into our database:

- Dublin_Airport_10_09_05_86.JPG (Ryanair Boeing 737-8AS)
http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?id=927623

- Dublin_Airport_10_09_05_31.JPG (Hemus Air Boeing 737-4Y0) http://www.airliners.net/procphotos/...ame=Dublin_Airport_10_09_05_31.JPG

These photo(s) show a motive that is not accepted by Airliners.net. This problem may be due to a very wide range of reasons, from photos that include unwanted window reflections to photos showing other subjects than aircraft. Also, certain kinds of so-called "creative" photos may be more prone to this problem.
Depending on the reason, it may or may not be possible to change the motive. If you want to read more about this issue, and about acceptable and unacceptable motives, please go to http://www.airliners.net/procphotos/reasons.php#motive

-----------------------------------------------------------

A total of 3 photos processed."

Now I will post all three pictures screened, only the first one being accepted.

I would appreciate if you could give me any views on this.

In the accepted pic, there is less of the engine and no wing in the pic compared to the other 2.
Perhaps crop the 2 that were rejected a bit further?
Of course, you'd need to ask an expert before taking my advice  Wink

Hmm, now this maybe my weird imagination, maybe someone else will be able to back me up on this but there seems to be a weird image in the cockpit - like a halloween mask (I think im going mad here!).

Is this my imagination?

Am i seeing an image that is made up from window reflections etc..?

Or is there a bit of manipulation going on?

help someone agree with me just so i know im not seeing things!

Does anybody see what i see!!!

Ryan

Funny you saying that, I've an image of a Braathens 737 taxiing at ABZ and it looks like the elephant man or a guy with a huge jaw looking out of the window. Gives me the shivers every time I look at it. Will need to dig it out.

Yes, looks like a Halloween mask  Smile

Alex, feel free to appeal any image you want. The Headscreeners, collectively, will review them.

Regards

Gary

Surely that is not the problem.

Screeners did not find your pic pleasant enough to the eye, that is all. As Gary suggested, I'd appeal, you have nothing to lose.

Cheers

Edit: This only applies to the HEMUS, as it seems the Ryanair was rejected for BadCommon as well, do not think an appeal would work for that one.

Hi all

Thanks for posting that Javi.

Had no idea it was accepted into the database. Screeners haven't sent me the mail yet  Sad I will need to have some serious words with them!

Regards

Gary

Why?! It is a very nice shot, as the shots posted by Alexandru are as well. Don't you agree? IMVHO all of them deserve to be accepted **being really really serious now**, not that MY opinion counts anyway...  Wink

Take care

Hello Ryan,

Quoting Ryangooner (Reply 2):

No there is no manipulation, I wouldn't know what that is myself.
I have a closeup image for you. I did some oversharpening and overcontrast but still can't figure out what that means. Now, the subject became more interesting...  Smile  scratchchin

Alexandru
