Hello All,
I just got this weird message this morning:
"Due to repeated violations of our photo upload rules and guidelines, you have been banned from uploading photos to Airliners.net for 2 weeks. Following this ban, all photos you had in the upload queue have been removed
Here follows a personal message from the screeners regarding this ban:
For cloning/manipulation.
Sincerely,
The Airliners.net Photo Screening Crew
screeners@airliners.net"
Now I cannot remember of cloning pictures, all I do is removing the dustspots.
I think they should send a link to te picture they think it was manipulated.
Also they are saying "Due to repeated violations". They should send a warning first and then proceed with the ban.
All my 22 pictures from the queue were removed so I wouldn't know now wich ones were in the que as I put all the uploaded ones in the same folder.
I don't think I will bother uploading anymore pictures because I think this is not fare at all.

I could be misunderstanding you, but you state that you "cannot remember" cloning anything other than dustspots. To me, that's not the same as "have not cloned anything."
Also "They should send a warning first and then proceed with the ban." Has it happened before?

Quoting Sulman (Reply 1): Also "They should send a warning first and then proceed with the ban." Has it happened before?
Agreed, they should warn you first Alex.
Send an e-mail to the screeners asking which photo/s are in question.
Fergul
Edit, I didn't think you were the cloning type Alex, apart from dust spots. You must have done something! Let us know how you get on You should have e-mail the screeners first before posting. .

I can see both sides here. The email says "Due to repeated violations".
If someone has violated the rules (regardless of which rule it is), they should be given a warning on the first violation, told that this is against the rules and not to do it again. Then if they do it again ban them.
I also can't see the point in not telling the guy exactly what the issue is, and with which picture. It's not like the screeners never make a mistake.

I agree. Somebody is innocent until it is proven otherwise. I don't think you make friends by banning somebody without pointing out what he did exacltly and where he did it.

Quoting Rotate (Reply 3): so why there should be a warning?
Oh yeah now I remeber the reason why the warning was intorduced, because of this Shoot First, Ask Questions later attitude!
I also agree with Steve, there should have been a warning at least unless it was blatent cloning. Alex I think you need to clarify a few things here. Are you sure that you haven't received any warning and have you tried to contact the screeners themselves. Like I said in my previous thread, you should have tried to resolve this through the e-mails first.
Sorry Alexandru, if you are able to post here asking about the ban, you will have been able to read the post about cloning that has been around here for a few weeks.
Unfortunately I have to agree with you Robin. Alex is a very good friend of mine and we have had some really good times at DUB. I have a lot of time for him and a lot of respect too. It hurts me to see this, very sad indeed, but its happened and we must move on. I hope you are ok Alex but like I said a few times......
