I wanted to be one of the first to congratulate my Manchester A.net colleague and buddy Jid Webb on reaching the admirable milestone of 1000 photos on the database – well done Jid.

He continues to add to his excellent portfolio on a very regular basis. If you have a spare few minutes it is worth taking a closer look at Jid’s photos – they show the variety that we get here at Manchester and it is hard to imagine a better selection of MAN photos than his – always excellent composition and quality.

I owe Jid a particular debt of thanks, because it was his advice that led to my first acceptance here on the site a year ago now. He is always happy to lend a hand with advice and it is always a pleasure to bump into him at his regular hunting ground near the rotation area for Runway 24L. A good man to know when you have an editing problem and a supportive character - there has been more than one occasion when he has offered support to me in one of my more ‘strained’ moments over the last year of uploading.

A good guy and an excellent photographer. We shall be looking forward to the next batch of shots – soon, I think, from destinations a bit further afield than MAN.

Take good care.

Paul (or Dr. Worm to you, Jid)

I'd send my congrats too, but he's just a jp.net screener who obviously deserves to be treated like a third class citizen here!  Wink

What, and you're better??!! Well he can't be any worse than you Brian! I had respect for you but now I just see a sad b*/-+$d. You had a problem with a.net almost a year ago which I agree was handled badly, but that's over now Brian, get over it! You never post anything usefull other than your bitterness towards others. Why you are still here I don't know. Maybe it's time to get off that bloody fence and leave. Grow up!
By the way if he is third class, what are you scum??!!

Take care

Um, before you blow a gasket Fergy, I'm a jp screener too. You obviously don't get the joke. Take a downer and chill. Did you notice the wink after what I said?

I think Jid knows what I was getting at, as we've had many discussions about how jp members are treated on this site.

Jeff, I'm not gonna take your obvious flamebait. This is post is not about me. This is about a photographer who richly deserves this credit, and one I've learned a lot from regarding post processing since I joined the JP crew.

Shame on the both of you for taking a positive thread negative. It would do a lot to show your apologies to him by getting it back on topic, or just not saying anything at all.

Hi Fergul....
I respect both of you a lot. About Brian, even I'm not thinking very fast ( I'm a bit squared minded.... sorry ) I knew He was talking not seriously. He doesn't deserve these words....
These kind of words are not the way you normally express yourself here ...

Cheers

Okay Guys - this is my thread, so I am keen it stays on track.

Here are a couple more of my favourites from Mr. Webb that shows he has a habit of being in the right place at the right time with that camera:

Then I owe you and Jid an apology, Sorry, I took it as an attack on Jid and how wrong I was. Sorry for that, and to Enrique as well. I don't normally talk like this. Now I know why I am bowing out of the forum, my membership runs out very soon, thank god.

Take care

Well done Jid,  bigthumbsup

You started it down that direction so don't deflect the blame.

Back on topic, NICE SHOT JID! Seriously that's one of the best lit best framed 744 gear captures I've seen.

Nice one Jid! I remember you sent me info on MAN like the day before I came over back in August. Without that I would have lost! Well, I did get lost but I got there in the end. I've always clicked on every photo he uploads. The quality and clarity is simply stunning! Heres to another 1000!

Well thank you ALL for your kind words.

It has been great fun getting 1000 images onto the database. I hope the next 1000 will be the same. I have learnt a great deal over this period, I think the most important is that this hobby is and should remain FUN. Don't take it to heart when you get a rejection (as I have done in the past), everyone gets rejections! It is not the end of the world, just see it as a path towards your improvement Big grin

I am glad that I have been able to help a few people along the way as people have helped me. I have come know and meet some fantastic people via this hobby. Maybe next year I will be able to travel a little further afield and meet a few more of you. I might even upgrade my push bike to something with an engine  Smile

Jid.

P.S. Anyone around SXM mid October I might even get the beer in.... might.

Sorry for the late reply, had too much going on round here!

Congrats Jid on the 1000.. Ive used your work as a frame for quality for a long while, and i still cant get anywhere close to it, every photo you upload still amazes me to this day, so keep em coming!
