Hi all,

I edited some shots (see below) this morning, and I was wondering if they'd have any chance. I really like 'em, but I just hope they're good enough *even though I know they're not all of 100% super-duper quality)

Any opinion is welcome.

Thanks,

Kas

Hi Kas:

All of these photos appear too dark and noisy to me, also a bit too soft, but cool photos indeed.

Hey Kas. (Please reconsider my opinions , on an LCD screen not configured for photo editing)

First pic : Too grainy , dark and backlit.

Second pic : Very nice , looks ok to me.

Third pic : Way too grainy and very soft , great photo though.

Fourth pic : Also extremely grainy but this is my favourite. Great shot.

Fifth pic : Don't know about this one. Interesting and original motive but would be badsize anyway at 600x912.

Ok, I'll pull them from the queue tonight when I get home.

Any chance that the SQ 747 and the tower-shot are good enough once I brighten them a bit and try to reduce the noise?

Kas

Ok, well, I've made the image somewhat brighter and a bit more sharpened.

I still haven't figured out how to remove the grain though.. I guess it was guessed by the fact that it was snowing.

Could the image be accepted in this current state?

Hmmm , tricky one...I don't know if the "grain" is caused by the cameras ISO or the actual snow falling at that time (the snow could be showing up in the photo).

I'd leave this one up to a more experienced photographer.

I'm not one but its a tough call Kas, there is a lot of snow there and with the bad weather you know how bad digital can be when it comes to low light and grain. This may be one for the personal collection. Having said that there are a good few shots with heavy snow in them on the DB so maybe just leave it in the queue and see what happens, they can only say no.  cry

Good luck

I'm definately keeping this one for the personal collection, but I'll take my chance on this one and leave it in the queue. After all, you're right, they can only say no  Smile

Thanks for the replies!

And yes, I don't know either. After reviewing the photo I came to the conclusion that I think its caused by the ISO. But I've seen photos that look as/more grainy than this one.

We'll see.
