A problem I have had for some time now (especially at EMA where there are no views of the G/A ramp other than through the fence) is getting shots through fences.
I have seen this mentioned here in the past so I thought I'd share this with you.
I have a Samsung Vega 140s compact 35mm camera (pretty handy as it has 38-140mm lens) that I keep in my bag these days loaded with slide film.
Shooting through fences is now simple. No longer do I need to consider the fence being 'in the shot' as it often was using a 35mm SLR. Now the lens fits easily into the gaps in the fence and this particular camera has a convenient landscape mode that overrides the autofocus (which is necessary to avoid the camera focusing on the fence which is still visible in the viewfinder and is certainly still 'visible' to the autofocus mechanism) - it just uses a small aperture to give maximum depth of field...not ideal for action but fine for ramp shots.
These three are all from my latest roll and were shot on Kodak Elite Chrome 100ASA.

I just poke the lens through the holes. The wire mesh is still visible in the viewfinder but once you get used to framing the shot while actually looking at the aircraft behind the wire it is quite simple.
But like I said...the fact that you see the wire in the viewfinder means it will probably interfere with the autofocus, which is where my fixed (narrow) aperture landscape mode comes into play

Just be careful if you put Kodachrome 64 in the camera - almost all compacts only have one row of DC pick ups rather than the two that are needed for full sensing, and can therefore only sense film speed in full stops (e.g. 100, 100 etc). They will set 100ASA for K64 unless you can over-ride the camera's setting. This is done as a cost saving measure with compacts, as most are used for print films where half stop film speeds are not usually necessary.
BTW, no more shots of GA anyway - from Friday night last the nightstopping GA should be parked on the eastern end of the main ramp.
...while in Slovenia last year. I got the camera at Gatwick on the way out having decided to leave the SLR at home (Doh!) and then decided at the last minute it might be worth taking a camera after all. Granted most of the shots of of the city of Ljubljana but this shot seemed to be ok.
I have checked and I do only have one row of contacts so only 100ASA for me now...which I tend to do anyway these days.
