At least I could say that I was the first!  Big grin Big grin

Just kidding! Big grin

Actually the second photo is just an A320. There are plenty of those in the database.

Nice shots. Were the cabin walls so dirty? Also why is there vapor?

Congratulations on having those accepted. I have been trying for months, and am still not in there once. Your pics are very good. Keep up the good work.

Lewis:
Those cabin walls were very clean. That is actually a art-decco design pattern on the walls. It had glitter in the dark brown strands. Remeber how 1960s kitchen furniture looked? Well that's what it reminded me of.  Smokin cool

As for the vapors coming from the vents and under the seats, I can't explain that. I've seen it on western aircraft but not that much.

Actually once I flew on Austrian MD-80 and there were literally huge clouds of vapour being blown out in puffs from the tops of the sidewalls on boarding. It made a nice effect on me...

Thats actually smoke from the pilots Cuban cigar being filtrated through the cabin...

No actually its just (i take it this was early morning) Condensation or fog from outside being sucked in by the air conditioning, its nothing wrong with the aircraft. Nothing wrong though Big grin

Cheers

Dan

Congratulations btw!

Hi Superfly

It's been a long time since I saw an IL62 at LHR.

Last time it was Aeroflot.

I am not sure if any IL62's visit now. Maybe some local LHR people can confirm?

Funny BO_eing.  Yeah sure

That seat isn't leaning. The head rest mat isn't straightend. That was actually my fault.  Sad

Gary, AFAIK Il-62s are no longer allowed in the EU due to noiserestrictions. I know they are banned at AMS (as are 134s and 154s except Pulkovo who have nothing else).

Bo,

We hardly get any Cubana IL62's in Montreal at the moment. The last few times that I have seen our Cubana flight it has been with the leased TACA A320 instead. It's possible that they might substitute the occasional IL62 but for the moment it is the A320 that is scheduled. Unfortunately the A320's don't have the same distinctive smoke trail on approach!

Cheers,
Felix

Jwenting:
You mean the EU makes an exception with noise restrictions for one airline?  Confused

Do European’s who live near airports whine about jet noise like the rich folks here who buy $1,000,000 near airports?

Bodobodo:
I purposely chose the Cancun entrance to fly on the IL-62. I would have loved to fly Air Canada to connect but they were all A320 flights. It was bad enough that I had to fly on one for 4 1/2 hrs. SFO-MEX.
