Hi all;

this was rejected for category, should I have had it as a special or hybrid scheme?

Thanks;

Hello Mark.

This is another area where my previous errors have led to the development of a small amount of expertise  biggrin .

It looks in the photo as though they have only half painted this aircraft, with only the tailplane in the new colours. As such it is not carrying the new livery and would be categorised as 'hybrid'. It's not 'special' as it is not showing any special livery that was purposely painted with an obvious end product in mind - it's just a 'half-way house' between the old colours and something different.

One wise person told me that you can tell the difference between 'special' and 'hybrid' by thinking whether they have painted a special colour scheme intentionally, or whacked something on the fuselage to spruce it up and make it clear who the plane belongs to. I think this is a very useful way of thinking about the difference. Your plane falls into the latter category.

Take care.

Paul
