Unfortunately the best one in my opinion was not accepted by Johan (asthetic reasons), nevertheless congratulations Julien!
Of course he must still learn quiet a lot about photography, photo-editing and aviation, but I am very glad about his enthusiasm. This little success here on A.N. gives him another push of motivation.
Is there somebody else with son/daughter with interests in aviation photography, or other way round, have you parents with similar interests like you?
Of course I had to help him scanning and uploading, but with it I made some experience with the new procedure. I suffered a little bit like newcomers (but I appreciated the quick first rejection message).
it needed 3 attempts until 5 of 7 pics got accepted. I must admit, that the rejection of the first attempt was absolutely correct: all photos were to dark in the tone (as my own photos of that day). Although I have improved the brightness they were rejected again with the same reason. After brightening again they got accepted, but in my opinion the digital versions are now somehow a little bit overexposed - or are all my other pics to dark? (a bether version of some few pics I put already on the reupload-page).

Yes, I've noticed the same like Jan because I live near Basel and I see most of Eduard's pictures here. Did you think the scan of the Dassault 900 photo on top of the BSL list looks to bright? Looks even a little dark to me. Where was it taken by the way. I like them anyway and I wish I had ramp access.
By the way, how old were you when you started taking pictures of aircraft?

Gongratulations indeed, That is quite a good photo!
I am one of the lucky young photographers out there.
My father is also an avid photographer and enthusiast.
He got me interested when I was brought on a day-trip with him, a friend of his and his friends son to Manchester airport in '94.
From that day on, I have been hooked, only starting photography to years ago, but always an enthusiast.
It is a great way to be as we often go on trips together, which are always great fun, we now have photo competitions, of course he normally wins, but not always!!
I wish you the best of luck for the future with you and your son Eduard, you'll have a great time!!!!

Thanks a lot for your kind comments (also from Julien).
Myself I began Aviation Photography with 16 years with a very old camera (I had to fold out the lens). With 18 I had my first SLR-Camera and I took the first suitable photos. My father was very occupied with his job and had never really time for me and my hobby.
Jan and Colin
indeed, some of my recent photos a dark in the tone, but meanwhile I have found the reason (see my topic apart). Thanks a lot for your scincere criticism, which I miss a little bit in this forum.
The Dassault 900 is shown here on the ramp of Jet Aviation. I have no ramp access anymore but Julien and I had the chance for a short accompanied ramp tour at BSL. Julien took the Dassault 900 out of the car.
I would be glad to meet you at BSL (and others too, of course!)
today I (we !) use a 18 years old Nikon F-501 and a 20 years old Nikon FE with original Nkon lenses 50mm, 70-210mm and 300mm. For scanning I use a CanoScan FS2710.
As I am very busy (job, family) I have not the time to go out often to take photos of actual planes, so old pics coming soon again....
Last but not least, I am curious what kind of girlfriend he will bring once at home....
