Gurus,
I have a couple shots that I recently put in the queue that I'm rather concerned about quality-wise. Would anyone mind helping me save these shots?
Especially this one, of the Steelers' 767 lifting off from DTW (an unusual place to find a US Airways 767): http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/b...eady/Steelers_DTW2606_DSC_0214.jpg
Is the ground clutter just too much to get around? Any thoughts on getting a better shot in camera in the future?
Is this one going to get rejected for exposure? The plane is taking off into the sun, so lightening the shot would probably wash out the nose. I sure hope this shot isn't for the bin.
This one, i'm not sure if it looks soft or oversharp. (Not the greatest monitor for image editing, so I have recently discovered, and the silvery paint in Spirit's livery seems to have a softening effect in any event.)

Damon,
First doesn't look very sharp, particularly on the bottom half, left, and right of the aircraft, and you've got some sharpening artefacts around the engine nacelles - I'd say the haze has hurt this one.
Second looks like a really nice shot to me, but you've got a dust spot over the right wing-tip.
Third is slightly out of focus, I don't think you can save it.

number 1 is stil a bit soft. I don't know if it can be saved.
number 2 is still dirty. just below the white-outlined rectangle on the underside of the fuselage. this is your best shot.
number 3 is probably not going to make it either. the colors look a bit odd. for example, the red 'S' on the tail. the red looks both saturated and faded at the same time.

1) That sucks. I hit it with USM once more. If that doesn't work, I'm giving up on it.
2) I cannot believe you spotted that. Even after you told me where it was, and after I did the brightness/contrast trick, it took me 10 minutes to find it. But thanks!
3) I turned down the brightness a little. I think I had washed out the colors a bit. I'm not particularly optimistic, but we'll see what happens with it.
