I'm in the process of selecting my new gear (I use to have an old Canon A1) to switch to digital for a Canon 20D + 18-55. Now, I would like to know your opinions between the two lenses below.
- Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM (no stabilizer)
- Canon 75-300mm (stabilizer)
What should I select for aviation photography ? Price is not a problem for me

Go for the 70-200L, the image stabilizer on the 75-300 doesn't work for moving subjects anyway. Optically these two lenses play in different leagues ...
Don't forget the new 70-300 IS, which is way better than the 75-300. If price is not an issue, take a look at the Sigma 50-500EX DG ...
Hey hey! Well if this is true then go for the 70-200 f2.8 L IS and also get a 400 f2.8 L IS prime to cover the range! Also get the 1.4x extender for these as well!
