I just stayed at the Radisson John. Awesome lounge on the top floor. You can shoot the 24 arrivals up there from the roof. I loved it. If you book it make sure you book the LAX Radisson. There is another one a few miles away.

I normally stay at the Embassy Suite in El Segundo. It's pretty nice in my books. It can be pricey tho ranging from $120-$170 for a regular room. If you plan on shooting at imperial Hill and don't have mode of transportation, it's an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel. Also, most rooms are facing the airport so you can see what's going on in your private balcony.

How far away from the airport is it? Straight line of course.

it's about 300meters walk from Imperial hill and overlooks the southern part of the terminal. It's on the same street as Imperial hill, just closer to Sepulveda Blvd.
